‘Batman v Superman’ LEGO Review: Kryptonite Interception

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters this weekend, and the merchandise is already in stores. LEGO fans can already get their sets and one of those sets is called “Kryptonite Interception.” Why is Batman intercepting Kryptonite? We’ll just have to see the movie to find out.

Priced at $29.99, “Krypton Interception” is a step up from cheaper sets, but nowhere near as huge as some of the bigger ones LEGO is known for. This set is a little slim, but heavy on the pieces. It has 306 pieces, and many of them are unique to the set.

The set includes two vehicles, although one is much cooler than the other. The smaller one is a Lexcorp forklift, which seats one Lexcorp Henchman minifigure and uses an elastic to raise and lower a platform with three containers of Kryptonite. A second Lexcorp Henchman figure is also included and he comes with a firing rifle.

The big selling point of the set is the new Batmobile, based on its appearance in Batman v Superman. It’s pretty hard to put it together, but looks really cool, with four working wheels and two firing guns in front. (We can assume that these missiles aren’t bullets, because we all know Batman doesn’t like guns or killing people.) An articulated canopy can be lifted to put the included Batman figure in the cockpit. Batman comes with two batarang pieces.

Overall, this is a fun set for the 7-14 age group. The Batmobile might be a bit hard for youngsters to put together, but the end result is really cool. For parents looking for a set that has it all for the Batfan in the family, this is almost it. Sure, there’s no Superman, but it’s a set that includes Batman and two bad guys for him to fight.
