Kanye West revealed to everyone that he is in serious debt. It’s not exactly clear how he got $53 million in debt, but a few brave fans have decided to help him.
On Feb. 15, fan Jeremy Piatt created a GoFundMe page to help out the Life of Pablo rapper. “As Kanye West has told us time and time again he is the ‘greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time.’ Great artists need to be supported financially to achieve their full potential,” Piatt wrote, hopefully with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
The GoFundMe page has raised $635 so far.
Over the weekend, West went on a Twitter rant binge, explaining that he is in debt, and asked Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg for $1 billion to help him out. Pizza Hut U.K. has offered him a job, though.
It looks like West might have overstated how dire his situation is. On Feb. 15, he did tweet that he is “personally rich” and can “buy houses for my family,” but then added that he doesn’t have the money for his artistic endeavors.
