Sutton Foster, who currently stars on Younger with Hilary Duff, will have a part in Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival.
The news was first reported by TVLine and confirmed by Netflix on Twitter. Foster is the first actress not to have a role in the original Gilmore Girls series that ran from 2000 to 2007 to join the new episodes.
However, Foster should be a familiar face to fans of Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s work. She starred in ABC Family’s short-lived Bunheads, which Sherman-Palladino created, as well.
While Melissa McCarthy isn’t returning to Stars Hollow, many other members of the show’s original cast will be back. In addition to Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, Liza Weil will be back. The AP notes that Milo Ventimiglia, Matt Czuchry, Yanic Truesdale, Sean Gunn, Kelly Bishop and Keiko Agena are all returning.
The Gilmore Girls revival is expected to include four 90-minute episodes. Netflix hasn’t announced when it will be up, but it is now in production.
