Shia LaBeouf slaps fan in the face during 24-hour elevator stay

Fans often make bizarre requests of their celebrity idols, but a Shia LaBeouf fan's recent request of the actor - and the fact that LaBeouf chose to grant it - just might take the cake.

As we previously reported, LaBeouf recently embarked on a piece of self-described performance art - the latest in a string of fan-centric live-streamed events - during which he stayed in an elevator at Oxford Union in the U.K. for 24 hours.

TheWrap reports that while the performance was well underway, an Oxford University student entered the elevator with a rather unusual request for the 29-year-old actor. He explained that he was a "performance artist," then asked, "Can you help me with the completion of my next piece by punching me in the face?"

LaBeouf initially demurs, but after some joking around, agrees instead to slap the student. The sound of the slap can be heard after the elevator doors close.

LaBeouf made headlines for his last piece of performance art back in November, in which he invited fans to screen all of his movies with him in New York.
