Rihanna postpones first ‘ANTI’ world tour dates after pulling out of Grammys

Rihanna has been forced to postpone the first dates of her ANTI world tour, just days after she had to pull out of the Grammys at the last minute.

The singer was supposed to perform “Kiss It Better” during the Grammys on Feb. 15, but was a last-minute no-show. Even though she did go to the Staples Center, her reps said that she was suffering from bronchitis and a doctor told her not to perform. There was also a report that she had a major meltdown before the show.

Rihanna’s spokeswoman told USA Today today that production delays are the reason for the tour delay though. The tour was supposed to start in San Diego on Feb. 26, but now all of the first eight shows have been pushed to May.

Instead, the tour will kick off with three dates in Florida. She performs in Jacksonville on March 12, then in Tampa the next day. She will perform in Miami on March 18.

The European leg of the tour starts in June and continues through August.

“Based on Rihanna's examination after Grammy rehearsal today, (her) doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords,” Rihanna’s spokeswoman told USA Today about her illness. “The antibiotics she has been on for three days did not kill the infection adequately. Therefore she cannot perform safely.”
