For fans of two of the U.K.'s best music exports - Adele and Phil Collins - the news that a collaboration between the two began, but was never completed, will likely come as a disappointment.
Collins recently told Entertainment Weekly that the 25 singer approached him to collaborate several years back, but the song they worked on together ultimately never materialized.
“She got in touch with me and I met her in London,” Collins said. “She gave me a piece of music that she wanted me to finish—and it was great!”
After some time, however, Collins found it difficult to get in touch with the Grammy winner.
“Basically, I couldn’t find her. She was like a ghost, you know," the 65-year-old said. "I’ve read that she said that it was too early, she made a mistake, she got frightened, she wasn’t ready to make another album yet, and so she kind of disappeared."
"It didn’t go anywhere," he continued, "but I was very flattered to be asked.”
As we previously reported, Adele appears on the cover of the March issue of Vogue, while Collins is set to release a memoir through Penguin Random House in October 2016.
