Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice went undercover recently posing as a Lyft driver to see if unsuspecting riders in the Bay Area would recognize him.
As the New York Daily News noted, in order to not blow his cover right away in the town where he played for 15 years, he wore a hat and sunglasses and of course took off his Super Bowl rings.
Passenger after passenger got into Rice’s vehicle but even those who said they were big San Francisco 49ers fans didn’t connect the one of the greatest Niners to ever take the field was their driver. Finally, Rice did his big reveal to let the riders know that he was not “Jay” the Lyft driver.
What’s up, Bay Area! I went undercover as a @Lyft driver & surprised a few of you along the way. Check it out here: https://t.co/UwNL3ZaYzS
