Margot Robbie signs on for thriller ‘Terminal’

Margot Robbie has joined a noir thriller called Terminal, which will be written and directed by Vaughn Stein.

Highlight Film Group announced the project today in Berlin during the Berlin International Film Festival. The company is starting international sales there, and is also handling U.S. rights with CAA. It will also finance the project.

Producers are BeaglePug’s David Barron (The Legend of Tarzan), Molly Hassell (The Trust), Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, Sophia Kerr and Robbie.

The film marks Vaughn’s feature directing debut and he has worked as an assistant director on The Danish Girl, World War Z and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. His screenplay for Terminal centers on a pair of hitmen who meet Annie (Robbie) on a mission and find out that she’s more connected than they think.

Robbie will next be seen in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot with Tina Fey on March 4, although her biggest role of 2016 is as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, which comes out in August. She also plays Jane in The Legend of Tarzan, which comes out on July 1. The Australian actress earned her breakthrough role in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street.
