[yasr_overall_rating]

The Land Before Time is a classic children’s story that has spawned fans from many generations. Beginning with the first movie in 1998, the franchise tells the story of dinosaur friends Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, Spike and Chomper as they go on adventures together in the Great Valley and beyond.

After fourteen movies, the films still encompass the heart and friendship that lies in the storylines featured. A new film, The Land Before Time: Journey of the Brave follows Littlefoot and his friends on an adventure to rescue his father after a volcanic eruption leaves him in danger. Despite the dangers of going through a valley full of sharpteeth and facing a dust storm, the friends learn lessons on what it means to be there for each other.

Country star and actress Reba McEntire and actor Damon Wayans Jr. also appear in the film. McEntire plays Etta, a flying dinosaur who is injured during the volcanic eruption and helps Littlefoot when he becomes separated from his friends. Wayans Jr. plays Wild Arms, a goofy dinosaur who leads the little dinosaurs’ loved ones on a journey to rescue them when it is discovered they have left.

The DVD, which has a run time of one hour and 22 minutes, features four new songs, which blend smoothly with the storyline. These include “Today’s the Day,” “Hot and Stinky,” “Better Off Alone,” and McEntire’s song “Look for the light.” While the DVD doesn’t have many special features, it does have a section for children to listen to the songs once again.

Fans of Littlefoot and friends will love this movie and it teaches children that they can overcome any challenge with friends. The film is available on Digital HD and DVD on Feb. 2. You can also find the DVD sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. In addition, a compilation album of classic Land Before Time songs from the previous films was also available digitally beginning Jan. 29 on Back Lot Music.
