Kanye West went off again on Twitter, this time with the intentions of shooting down Pink Floyd producer Bob Erzin’s recent comments about him.
Erzin wrote a pretty harsh assessment of West’s career in Bob Lefsetz’s newsletter on Feb. 22, comparing him to other rap artists like Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar. What West took specific offense to, however, was Ezrin writing that Macklemore’s music has more influence than his.
“Unlike other creators in his genre like Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie or even M.C. Hammer for that matter, it’s unlikely that we’ll be quoting too many of Kanye’s songs 20 years from now,” Ezrin wrote.
"He didn’t open up new avenues of public discourse like NWA, or introduce the world to a new art form like Grandmaster Flash, or even meaningfully and memorably address social issues through his music like Marshall, Macklemore and Kendrick,” he continued.
Ezrin also wrote that West’s achievements don’t actually lie in his musical accomplishments, “instead Kanye’s greatest achievements have been in the form of excessive behavior, egomaniacal tantrums and tasteless grandstanding.”
For West’s part, he took to Twitter to ask if anyone has ever even heard of Bob Ezrin and asked “what the f--k does he know about rap….” He then posted several tweets about the newsletter critique, writing, “I’m tired of old people that have no connection with anything trying to comment on music!”
Do something relevant… Please don’t speak on me bro ever again!!!

He then made another jab at Taylor Swift.
