Hornets acquire Courtney Lee in three-team trade

The Charlotte Hornets acquired Memphis Grizzlies guard Courtney Lee in a three-team trade on Feb. 16.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Hornets are sending point guard Brian Roberts to the Miami Heat and swingman P.J. Hairston to the Grizzlies. The Heat are giving the Hornets center Chris Anderson as part of the trade. The Grizzlies will get a pair of second-round draft picks from the Heat and Hornets in the trade in addition to Hairston.

Lee was the 22nd pick in the 2008 draft and has played for the Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics and the Grizzlies. He will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season. He is averaging ten points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists this season, according to Fox Sports. Lee has averaged 9.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in his eight-year career.

The Hornets are currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference and are trying to make the playoffs after not making it last year. The Grizzlies are 31-22 and in fifth place in the Western Conference.
