Fuller House hit Netflix for streaming on Friday with 13 episodes. The cast is not bothering to worry about the bad reviews some critics have published.
Candace Cameron Bure, who plays DJ Tanner both on Full House and its spin off, Fuller House, explained in an interview with E! News:
"The critics never had a good thing to say about Full House and yet it ran for eight years in primetime and then it's never been off the air in 30 years. So it's a testament to what the fans want and not what the critics think. If there are any negative review that's how we feel about it with Fuller House; we did this for the fans and we think they're going to absolutely love it."
The emphasis and show itself has always been on and about the fans, who just can't wait to watch more from their favorite family sitcom characters.
Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie Tanner, added:
"The fans are excited about the show. We're not going out there and trying to win an Emmy for Best Drama. We're a family sitcom that fans absolutely love and adore, and we're incredibly honored to get to bring that back and I think we've stayed really true to that drama."
Negative reviews include those such as The Hollywood Reporter, which commented:
"It's doubtful that there will be a more painful 2016 TV episode than the Fuller House pilot, which takes an inexcusable 35 minutes to establish a plot that is just an inversion of the original Full House premise."
The Full House spin off brings back favorite characters and actors DJ (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), Kimmy (Andrea Barber), Danny (Bob Saget), Joey (Dave Coulier), Jesse (John Stamos), Becky (Lori Loughlin), Steve (Scott Weinger), and Nicky and Alex (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wilhoit).
