The nominations for the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards were announced this morning, with Eric Church and Chris Stapleton tying for the most nominations at five. Little Big Town, Chris Young and Cam came in second with four each.
Church will compete for Entertainer of the Year with Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert. Church, Aldean, Stapleton, Dierks Bentley and Brett Eldredge are all up for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Lambert is the only woman nominated for Entertainer of the Year. She is also up for Female Vocalist and will compete with Kelsea Ballerini, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood.
Young’s I’m Comin’ Over, Sam Hunt’s Montevallo, Church’s Mr. Misunderstood, Thomas Rhett’s Tangled Up and Stapleton’s Traveller are the nominees for Album of the Year.
The nominees for Single Record of the Year are Cam’s “Burning House”; Chris Janson’s “Buy Me A Boat”; Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man”; Little Big Town’s “Girl Crush”; Young’s “I’m Comin’ Over” and Hunt’s “Take Your Time.”
The 51st annual ACM Awards will air on Sunday, April 3 on CBS from the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
