Dr. Luke's lawsuits indirectly against Kesha are dismissed

Pop star Kesha has been staying out of the limelight due to her pending lawsuit against Dr. Luke and her current inability to release new music due to a contract with the producer. But a recent legal development regarding related cases may be a sign that Kesha's legal luck is about to change.

On Feb. 4, a New York judge dismissed cases leveled by Dr. Luke against Kesha's mother, Pebe Sebert, and her manager, Jack Rovner, Yahoo! Finance reports.

The suit against Sebret claimed that she had attempted to extort Dr. Luke, but the judge ruled that there was no jurisdiction over Sebert in New York, since she resides in Tennessee.

The case against Rovner was dismissed on the grounds that he was doing his job as Kesha's manager.

As we previously reported, Dr. Luke filed a request to throw out Kesha's lawsuit against him, which she filed in October 2014. The singer alleged that he had sexually assaulted her, and she attempted to remove herself from a contract that prevented her from collaborating with anyone but the producer to release new music.
