Even though Wonder Woman won’t be out for another year and production only started in November, DC Films and Warner Bros. gave a special preview during a special on The CW Tuesday night.
The footage can be seen during a brief introduction to the Wonder Woman character, who was created by William Moulton Marston in 1941. Despite the character’s staying power in pop culture, the Amazon princess has never been in a feature film before.
Gal Gadot will play Princess Diana/Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens on March 25. On June 23, 2017, her solo movie hits theaters.
The brief clip included interviews with director Patty Jenkins (Monster), co-star Chris Pine and Gadot. We can see Wonder Woman in action and it looks like Pine’s Steve Trevor is taken to the home of the Amazons. As Pine previously confirmed, the film does take place during World War I.
The CW special also included the first trailer for Suicide Squad.
