William H. Macy supports stars boycotting the upcoming Oscars

The upcoming Academy Awards have been surrounded by controversy after the nominations were announced. Many major celebrities in Hollywood will not be attending because of the lack of diversity amongst the nominees.

Room star William H. Macy, was asked about the issue at the Casting Society of America’s 31st Artios Awards in Beverly Hills. The actor didn't hold back with his response.

"Good for them. Good for them," said Macy. "Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. It's not right. Someone's gotta say it. They said it. I applaud them."

Macy will not be attending the show but not out of protest. Turns out that the Room star wasn't invited to the awards.

Actress Jada Pinkett Smith is someone who has been very outspoken when it comes to the Oscar controversy and will be boycotting the event.

Smith took to her Facebook page to express her thoughts after her husband, Will Smith,  was snubbed for his work in the drama Concussion.

“At the Oscars … people of color are always welcomed to give out awards … even entertain, but we are rarely recognized for our artistic accomplishments,” Smith wrote. “Should people of color refrain from participating all together?”
