Just after CBS confirmed that Ted Danson will be leaving CSI: Cyber, the veteran actor has joined an NBC pilot that will star Kristen Bell.
During the Television Critics Association Press Tour today, CBS Entertainment Glenn Geller confirmed that Danson will be leaving Cyber after one season, reports TheWrap.
The former Cheers star was only a part of the show because he had one year left on his contract for the original CSI, which ended earlier this season with a TV movie.
Just as CBS confirmed that news, NBC announced that Danson was cast in Good Place, a new comedy from Parks and Recreation showrunner Michael Schur. NBC already ordered 13 episodes.
Bell stars in the series as Eleanor, who has suddenly decided to be a good person by making up for all the bad things she’s done. Danson is Michael, who falls into the role of Eleanor’s guide to life.
Danson is a three-time Golden Globe winner for his roles in Cheers and the TV movie Something About Amelia. He also won two Emmys for Cheers. His other credits include Fargo Season Two, Damages, Becker, Bored To Death and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
As for Bell, she currently stars on Showtime’s House of Lies and starred on Veronica Mars.
