Steven Avery's new lawyer calls prosecutor Ken Kratz 'bloodsucking' for writing to her client for a confession to put in his book

The prosecutor in Steven Avery’s murder case, Ken Kratz, wrote a letter to the subject of Netflix’s Making a Murderer in jail, asking him for a confession to murdering Teresa Halbach so that he can include it in his book.

As we previously reported, Kratz said the reason for writing the book is because “the one voice forgotten to this point is Teresa Halbach.”

However, Avery’s new attorney, Kathleen Zellner, has tweeted the letter Kratz sent her client. She tweeted, “Kratz letter to SA:Confess so I can write book & profit. This bloodsucking gives vampires a bad name #MakingAMurderer.”

In the letter, Kratz promises Avery notoriety if he confessed to murdering Halbach in his book.

“The difference between you and famous convicted murderers from the past is they told their whole truthful story to someone, who then wrote a book about what actually happened and people got to understand both sides,” Kratz wrote.

He continued, “I was willing to do that for you…but if you are going to continue to lie about what happened between you and Ms. Halbach, I am not interested.”
