Steven Avery’s ex-fiance, Jodi Stachowski, now claims he's guilty of murdering Teresa Halbach

Steven Avery’s ex-fiance, Jodi Stachowski, who was featured in Netflix’s Making a Murderer, appeared on HLN’s Nancy Grace on Wednesday night an declared Avery is guilty of killing Teresa Halbach.

Stachowski, who sang a different tune in the documentary, appearing as a loyal girlfriend until everything became too much for her, said she was forced by Avery to lie when speaking on camera for the documentary.

“He told me how to act,” she said. He told me] ‘Smile, be happy’ — it was all lies.” At the time of Halbach’s death in 2005, Stachowski was serving time in jail for a DUI charge.

Stachowski claimed Avery was physically abusive during their relationship, and she even claimed to eat rat poison so she could go to the hospital to get away from him.

When asked if she believes he’s guilty of murdering Halbach, she said, “Yes I do, because he threatened to kill me and my family and a friend of mine.”

Stachowski also called him a “monster” and claimed he told her “all b-tches owe him because the one that sent him to prison the first time and that he could do whatever he wanted.”

Grace has made her thoughts on the case known on her show and in interviews, saying, “When you really look at the forensic evidence, Steven Avery is guilty of murdering Teresa Halbach.”
