Steve Carell was the first actor to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016. He was joined by his friends, family and co-stars for the event.
Carell was incredibly thankful for the honor, in particular because of the impressive turnout despite it being a nasty, rainy day in Hollywood.

“It’s really above and beyond...everyone who’s standing there looking like miserable wet cats," Carell said. "This means an awful lot to me. You can push it aside and say 'well, it’s silly, it’s fun.' But it really does. It does mean an awful lot.”
Attending the event was Anchorman director Adam McKay, Anchorman co-star Will Ferrell, and The Big Short co-star Ryan Gosling. Also in attendance was Carell's wife, Nancy Walls, his kids, Annie and Johnny, and about 100 of the actor's fans.
Ferrell joked in his speech, “Today, the City of Angels is crying. But not tears of sorrow. They are tears of joy as we honor Steve Carell. Today, we are all proud Angelinos."
The Office star has taken a turn towards drama lately, delivering an impressive performance in The Big Short as hedge fund manager Mark Baum. That role landed him a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globe Awards, which air this Sunday. If he wins, this will be Carell's first Golden Globe win for his role in a movie, although he did take home an award back in 2006 for his performance on The Office.
