Sports Illustrated model Hilary Rhoda sues mother, claims she stole six figures from her

A lawsuit from 2014 has just been uncovered, which shows Sports Illustrated model Hilary Rhoda sued her own mother for allegedly stealing money from her.

Rhoda’s mother, Marianne Rhoda, filed a countersuit this week that reveals she doesn’t approve of her daughter’s new husband Sean Avery.

In the original lawsuit, Hilary claimed her mom and manager “manipulated her familial role to improperly seize — and then abuse — enormous power over Hilary’s finances.” She alleges Marianne stole amounts in the six figure-range, Page Six reports.

Hilary also claims her mom used the money she earned as a “personal piggy bank,” used a company credit card on herself and forged her daughter’s signature.

In the countersuit, Marianne denies it all and blames her daughter’s marriage to Avery as a reason she was “concerned” for her finances. “Avery prevailed upon [Hilary] to refrain from seeking a prenuptial agreement and embarked on a concerted effort to estrange” her mom wrote in the countersuit.

Rhoda married Avery in October in the Hamptons after getting engaged in 2013.
