Russo Brothers reveal how much time has passed between 'Age of Ultron' and 'Captain America: Civil War'

If you've been wondering how long after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron will Captain America: Civil War take placethe directors have just revealed that answer.

In a new interview with Comicbook.com, director Joe Russo said that the amount of time that has passed will be roughly equivalent to how much time has actually passed between movies, meaning Civil War would take place about a year after Age of Ultron.

Russo also discussed where exactly we find out characters when Civil War opens.

"We find Cap leading the Avengers," Russo said. "He's tutoring or mentoring Scarlet Witch in the beginning of the movie and bringing her into the fold. We find them on a mission at the start of the film."

Finally, Russo revealed that the events of Age of Ultron will have a profound effect on the storytelling of the movie, as everyone is dealing with the aftermath of that event both emotionally and politically.

Although it's technically a Captain America sequel, Civil War might as well be an Avengers followup, as it features virtually the entire cast from Age of Ultron. The movie stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie and Tom Holland making his debut as Spider-Man. It opens on May 6.
