Robin Williams' Napa Valley estate sells for $18.1 million to French winemakers

The late Robin Williams’ Napa Valley, Calif. estate in the Mayacamas Mountains has sold for $18.1 million, co-listing agent Joyce Rey has confirmed.

Williams, who died in in 2014, built the sprawling estate in the early 2000s. It has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and a separate guest house. The home sits on 650 acres, including 18.4 acres of vineyards.

According to Wall Street Journal, the buyers are Alfred and Melanie Tesseron of Château Pontet-Canet wine, who plan on making wine on the property.

The 20,000 square-ft estate, which also features a tennis court, horse barn and riding trails, first went on the market in 2012 for $35 million and it has seen several price cuts since then. In April 2014, it was reduced to $29.9 million. Before it was sold it was listed at $22.9 million.

Williams’ widow, Susan Schneider, was involved in a legal battle with his three children; Zachary, Zelda, and Cody, over his estate after his death.
