Olivia Munn, Jason Segel picked to host Oscars Sci-Tech Awards

Even though we will only get to see a short segment from the awards during the main Oscars broadcast, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences has picked two big stars to host the Sci-Tech Awards.

The ceremony takes place on Sunday, Feb. 13 at the Beverly Wilshire in Beverly Hills and honors the teams of technicians and scientists who helped develop important technology for the film industry. Olivia Munn and Jason Segel were picked to hand out the awards and only a small segment of the event will be included during the Oscars on Feb. 28 on ABC.

“The Sci-Tech Awards Presentation is one of our special events during Oscar season, and we’re thrilled to have Olivia and Jason as this year’s hosts,” said Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. “Their humor and charm will be terrific complements to the brilliance of our colleagues and their outstanding scientific and technical achievements.”

Munn currently stars in the Kevin Hart comedy Ride Along 2 and will next be seen in X-Men: Apocalypse. She also has a part in Zoolander 2 and was also in Mortdecai last year.

As for Segel, he was in The End of The Tour last year and is best known for his role in How I Met Your Mother. His other credits include The Muppets, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and This Is 40.
