Based on some recently leaked images, the new Japanese Godzilla is going to be absolutely terrifying.
A set of four pictures of the new design have emerged online, according to fan site The Good, The Bad, and Godzilla. We can see some clear radiation damage on the monster this time around, which makes sense considering his background. Now it appears that the giant monster being a metaphor for the damage caused by nuclear weapons has been made much more literal.

This new suit will be operated by three people for the upcoming film, although it will be enhanced using digital effects. The design apparently comes from popular anime creator Mahiro Maeda. These images also seem to fit with rumors that he will be healing himself in the new film and will also be in the process of regenerating muscles.
Resurgence will feature the largest version of the monster ever put to film, as we previously reported. Prior to this, the record was held by the 2014 American Godzilla at 355 feet tall, so the Resurgence one may be pushing 400 feet.
Godzilla: Resurgence hits theaters in Japan on July 29, 2016.
