Lea Michele says Cory Monteith would have loved her new boyfriend

Lea Michele has found love again after the tragic loss of Cory Monteith, and she says that her late boyfriend would love the guy she's with now.

In an appearance on the Fempire podcast via People, Michele discussed her new boyfriend Matthew Paetz and how they both deal with Monteith's absence.

"He also is very respectful for the person that I was with," she said. "And that again is something that I love so much about him and I really know that Cory would love him too. And that's all that we really hold within our hearts, and so does everyone else in my life."

Michele also discussed the fact that whenever she posts pictures on social media of herself with Paetz, she receives comments from people constantly bringing up Monteith's death.

"And even though, you know, I don't think anyone is really projecting hate – it is positive, it's nothing so, so terrible – but at the end of the day, we have to remember that what we put out there, it manifests and it creates energy and you should want to be the person that chooses to take that second to do something positive," Michele said.

Michele met Paetz on the set of the music video "On My Way" in April 2014. She has previously described the experience of meeting him as miraculous.
