One of the greatest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villains of all time will finally be making his live action debut this summer.
In a new Rolling Stone profile of director Michael Bay, it was confirmed that Krang will be one of the villains of the upcoming film sequel. The article features a conversation between Bay and visual-effects supervisor Pablo Helman over whether Krang should have tentacles.
"He could have some tentacles," Bay told Helman. "I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus."
Krang will appear in the film alongside Bebop and Rocksteady, characters from the cartoon series who have also never appeared in the live action films before.
We had heard rumors that Krang would show up in the sequel for months, but this is our first official confirmation. Also showing up in this sequel will be Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) and Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry). April O’Neil (Megan Fox) and Vernon Fenwick (Will Arnett) both return as well.
Although the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was not well reviewed, it did quite well at the box office, grossing nearly $500 million worldwide. Out of the Shadows opens on June 3.
