Long after the entire planet has been convinced that Jon Snow will return on Game of Thrones, Kit Harington is still trying to keep up the lie.
In a new interview with Digital Spy, Harington says he has not filmed Game of Thrones in a while.
"I had quite a lot of time off last year. I've been taking it easy. And relaxing," Harington said. "When I realised I was doing [Doctor Faustus], I had a few months to prepare for it, and something like this takes some working through before even getting into the rehearsal room."
Harington is probably hoping that general audiences aren't aware that he has been spotted filming Game of Thrones over and over throughout the past few months. One particular set of photos is rather spoiler-heavy, as we've previously reported, but needless to say, the claim that Harington has not filmed anything for season 6 is demonstrably untrue.
HBO has even been giving some of the game away recently, heavily featuring Jon Snow in the season 6 poster and trailer. Plus, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) teased a "great twist" regarding Snow's fate, as we've previously reported, which at the very least confirms there's more coming for him than simply being tossed in a funeral pyre.
This isn't the first time Harington has flat out lied to reporters though. In an Entertainment Weekly feature that went up immediately after the season 6 finale, he spoke at length about leaving the show for good, which we now know is not the case. He must be having a lot of fun trying to preserve the surprise.
We'll know for sure what's going on with Jon Snow when season six premieres on April 24.
