Jimmy Fallon doesn’t have a drinking problem, says NBC

After two hand injuries in five months last year, tabloids have claimed that Jimmy Fallon has a drinking and partying problem. But NBC doesn’t think he has one, although the network has told him to turn it down a notch.

During the Television Critics Association press tour, NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt was asked about Fallon’s health. He said that the Tonight Show host “doesn’t have a drinking problem that any of us know about.”

Greenblatt did admit that Fallon likes to have fun and has had accidents, but “Aside from that, he’s in better shape than he’s ever been.”

But then, it sounds like Greenblatt and the NBC staff are at least worried about something because they have talked to the 41-year-old about his safety and health.

“There’s been conversations about that. The stories are exaggerated about all of it. I don’t know to what extent,” he said. “I haven’t been part of it. I don’t have those conversations with Jimmy Fallon.”

Fallon hurt one hand in June and then his other in October. The comedian used both incidents for punch lines, but The New York Post claimed it was not something to joke about in November. The paper reported that his friends and NBC were worried about his drinking.
