George Miller says he won't make any more 'Mad Max' movies

Sorry, Mad Max: Fury Road fans: director George Miller says he is officially done with Mad Max.

In a surprising development, Page Six quotes Miller as saying he does not plan to make another sequel ever again.

"Those Mad Maxes take forever," he said. "I won’t do those anymore.”

This is a complete reversal from comments Miller has made as recently as last month when the talked to Entertainment Weekly about directing another Mad Max. He said he wanted to make one small movie first, after which he would return for Mad Max: The Wasteland.

Yes, the next film even had a title in place, and Miller said back in October that he had not one but two sequels in the works. Now, he suddenly claims he is completely finished with the franchise?

It remains to be seen if The Wasteland could still happen with another director, or if we really have seen the last of the Mad Max series. Given how incredible Fury Road was, let's just hope Miller changes his mind again.
