Rumors have circulated for years about a possibility of a Friends reunion, and while we may never get the on-screen reunion we crave as fans of the show, we might get the next best thing. In an upcoming special honoring director James Burrows, all six cast members will be involved in some way.
NBC chairman, Robert Greenblatt, explained to the Television Critics Association on Wednesday that they’re trying to make a Friends reunion happen for the special that will air on Feb. 21.
"We'd like to get all six of them in room at the same time, but I'm not sure we can logistically pull it off,” Greenblatt said, USA Today reports.
If Jennfier Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer’s schedules don’t permit them attending the special together, Greenblatt said they will still all be involved but separately.
Burrows is being honored as he celebrates his 1,000th comedy episode on NBC's Crowded.
Friends reunion rumors were put to rest in 2014.
