David Schwimmer denied the highly-buzzed about Friends reunion rumors at Saturday’s FX TCA panel, saying their cast appearance at an NBC special next month can’t constitute as a reunion because Matthew Perry won’t be there.
Schwimmer called the reunion hoopla “completely inaccurate," saying, "I mean, in no way is it a Friends reunion when one member is out of the country.".
Perry will be onstage in London during a special honoring director James Burrows.
"We all love James Burrows and I'm sure Matthew Perry would be there if he could, but he's working in London,” Schwimmer continued. “Maybe one day there will be [a reunion], but this will not be it."
Jennfier Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and Schwimmer will be there. The six cast members haven't appeared on-screen together since Friends' 2004 finale.
"I love that people are that into the show and I would love to see the six of us together and I'm sure one day we will be," Schwimmer added.
