When you think of actress Christina Hendricks, what comes to mind? For James Purefoy, her co-star in the upcoming series Hap and Leonard, it's neither her signature red tresses nor her Mad Men character Joan.
In an interview with Hollywood Life at the Sundance film festival, where attendees where treated to a sneak peek at the new series, Purefoy responded to the mention of his co-star Hendricks by declaring that, "Christina Hendricks is a Rolls Royce."
"We're like a couple of beaten up rusty old trucks. She purrs onto the set," Purefoy continued, referring to himself and and his other co-star, Michael Kenneth Williams.
Hap and Leonard will premiere on Sundance TV on March 2, and is based on characters from a series of novels by Joe R. Lansdale. The series will center around the two title characters, a pair of best friends living and solving crimes in East Texas. Hendricks is set to play the ex-wife of Purefoy's character, Hap.
The series represents Hendricks' second foray into a TV period piece, as Hap and Leonard is set in the 1980s.
