Charlie Cox says Daredevil could be recast in 'Avengers: Infinity War'

Marvel has been building an interconnected universe of movies and TV shows for the past few years, but according to one of the franchise's stars, it might not be quite as connected as we thought.

In an interview with Entertainment TonightDaredevil actor Charlie Cox said that Marvel's TV universe and its film universe are two different entities. He also had a very startling statement to make about the appearance of Daredevil in Avengers: Infinity War.

"So even if the character were to appear in that film, that doesn't necessarily mean that I would appear in that film," Cox said. "I will pick a fight with the guy that they choose!"

It has been previously stated than Avengers: Infinity War would tie the Marvel TV and movie universe together, and directors Joe and Anthony Russo said it would feature a whopping 67 characters, as we previously reported. But could they really intertwine the two worlds while not even using the same actors?

Anthony Russo also recently said that connecting the Netflix shows with the movie universe would be complicated since they're controlled by two different teams, as we previously reported.

"Then there is the possibility of a crossover, but is more complicated," Russo said. "It is a smaller version of the problem that exists when thinking that Fox has the rights to certain characters, Sony and others.”

When Russo said "it's complicated," could he be referring to this issue of needing to recast characters? Needless to say, though, if Marvel did decide to incorporate Cox, the actor said he'd be enthusiastic about taking on the project.

Cox told Entertainment Tonight, "Could you imagine? That would be the coolest thing ever."
