Caitlyn Jenner has reached a settlement with the step-children of Kim Howe, the woman killed in the fatal car crash on Pacific Coast Highway that Jenner was involved in back in February 2015.
William Howe and Dana Redmond filed motions to have the lawsuit dismissed, reports TMZ. Jenner’s attorney, Philip Boesch Jr., told The Associated Press that the case was dismissed on Thursday.
Sources told TMZ that the two sides reached a “very modest amount,” even though everyone involved figured out that William Howe and Redmond did not have legal standing in the case. The money will be paid by insurance, not by Jenner.
The car crash occurred on Feb. 7, 2015. Prosecutors decided against charging Jenner with a crime, although she has faced several lawsuits related to the crash. She has settled a lawsuit with the driver of the Prius involved in the crash, but she is still facing a lawsuit from the family that was in a Hummer.
“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” Jenner said in a statement the day after the crash. “It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”
