Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander has landed the cover of Vogue alongside his Zoolander 2 co-star, Penelope Cruz.
Stiller first debuted his Blue Steel fifteen years ago and back in March, he and co-star Owen Wilson confirmed they would be filming a sequel by walking in the Valentino fashion show in character during Paris Fashion Week.
Zoolander 2 will also feature Olivia Munn, Benedict Cumberbatch and Kristin Wiig.
Stiller told Vogue about the first Zoolander film, “We were on our own—both in the fashion world and with the studio, too. They were just like, ‘We don’t quite know what this is.’”
In the February issue of Vogue, Stiller poses in character both alone and with Cruz, in a series of photos shot by Annie Leibovitz.
He explained of his Blue Steel pose that it “came out of me in the mirror at home. I guess with the selfie culture, it's just a natural extension. Did I have any idea that it would live on? No."
