We've heard rumors for a while that Ben Affleck would direct a Batman movie, and the actor and filmmaker all but confirmed it in a new interview.
In a conversation with USA Today, Affleck said he was inspired by Batman v. Superman director Zack Snyder to make his own superhero film.
"I’ll just say going through the process, I would never have imagined that I could or would direct a movie like this," he said. "And in working with [Zack Snyder] and seeing what he did and watching him every day, I got really inspired by that and by seeing the scope on which he was telling the story, by seeing what he was able to do with this kind of mythic story on a grand scale."
Affleck's statement does heavily imply that he is indeed in talks to direct his own Batman movie, although a deal probably isn't in place yet. One recent juicy rumor about the film was that it would feature The Red Hood, a resurrected Robin brought back after being killed by the Joker. Many assumed from the Batman v. Superman trailed that the Joker has killed Robin in this new universe, so that would make a lot of sense.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25.
