BBC America launches 'Orphan Black' fan art contest with $10,000 prize

BBC America is calling on fans to submit their Orphan Black artwork for a chance to win $10,000.

In an announcement on their website, the network said it wants fans to design the Orphan Black season 4 poster. Submissions will be accepted until Feb. 15th, and the winning artist's design will be used as part of the show's official marketing campaign. The artist will also receive a $10,000 cash prize and a screening of the season 4 premiere in their hometown.

"Our fanbase is very artistic and very creative," said Tatiana Maslany. "To have their work representative of our show is kind of a no-brainer."

Submissions will be judged by a panel consisting of Orphan Black creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, BBC America President Sarah Barnett and Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross. In addition to the winner, 20 finalists will receive a custom print of their artwork signed by the entire cast. Hopefully that means Tatiana Maslany plans to sign it 10 times.

According to Entertainment Weekly, partner on the contest, all types of art are encouraged, from paintings to sculptures to stop-motion animation. Participants must be 18 years or older.

Orphan Black follows a group of clones who become aware of their genetic identical and come together to piece together a conspiracy. It stars Tatiana Maslany as nearly every single character.
