Adam Brody and Martin Freeman have just signed on to a new Crackle original series.
According to Variety, Brody and Freeman will star in Start Up, a one-hour drama about three strangers who fund a tech company with dirty money and while getting themselves involved with a Haitian gang. They must protect their business and their controversial idea as an FBI agent (Freeman) is hot on their tail.
This is the latest piece of original programming from Sony's online streaming service, which does not require a paid subscription but instead runs advertisements. Start Up will be its second one-hour drama after The Art of More, which was recently renewed for a second season.
The platform has also produced shows like Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, as well as original films like Joe Dirt 2, as we've previously reported.
Start Up is created by Ben Ketai (The Forest), who also wrote several episodes. Brody himself serves as a producer.
“Ben Ketai has an amazing vision for this series and we are fortunate to have such a talented ensemble of actors to help bring this story to life," Critical Content President and Executive Producer Andrew Marcus said.
The first season of Start Up will consist of 10 episodes.
