A younger Jean Gray, Sophie Turner, makes her first appearance and opens this trailer by expressing her panic and fear.
"I saw the end of the world. I could feel all this death." X-Men: Apocalypse features classic characters from the original X-Men movies but as their younger versions. Famke Janssen first brought Gray to the screen but it appears that Turner has channeled many elements of that original performance into Apocalypse. This opening sets the stage that Apocalypse will be darker in tone and picks up where Days of Future Past left off.
