5. Deflategate
A story that we just couldn’t escape in 2015 is now known as Deflategate. It certainly wasn’t a surprise that the Patriots were accused of cheating … again. However, it did come as a surprise when Commissioner Roger Goodell dropped the hammer and suspended franchise quarterback Tom Brady for four games over his alleged involvement. Brady and team owner Robert Kraft were furious and the QB appealed the suspension and ultimately did not have to miss any games. However, the saga is not over yet as the matter is still being investigated.
