The Resident Evil stuntwoman who suffered a horrifying injury while filming earlier this year must now have her arm amputated.
Olivia Jackson was struck by a metal camera arm while filming a high-speed chase for the latest Resident Evil movie, as we previously reported. Supposedly, the camera malfunctioned and did not rise up as Jackson approached. Following the accident, she spent two weeks in a coma.
Now, she told The Sun that her left arm is paralyzed and must be amputated. She has also suffered facial scarring, head injuries and a punctured lung.
"My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face," Jackson said. "But I'm truly grateful to be alive."
Jackson has had quite an impressive career as a stuntwoman, also working on movies like Dredd, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich expressed her support for Jackson back in September. "All of us here have been praying every single day for her and her family and sending our thoughts out hoping some of the positive energy reaches her, because she truly needs it," the actress wrote.
