A Bug’s Life (1998), John Lasseter
You have to hand it to Lasseter and Pixar, only they would think of doing Seven Samurai with bugs. While there are other sources for the story, its strong connection to the Akira Kurosawa film is fun to point out. While the movie isn’t quite as beloved these days as other Pixar movies, I really enjoy it. Plus, how can you complain about the great casting of Kevin Spacey as Hopper?
