Toy Story 2 (1999), John Lasseter
Toy Story 2 began life as a direct-to-video movie, but it was so good that there was no way Disney was going to dump it to VHS. The film is so fantastic, fun and just keeps pushing the medium as far as it could go in 1999. What makes it even better is the fact that it refuses to tell the same story as Toy Story, a pratfall too many sequels fall for.
