Panicked little girl calls 911 after Elf on the Shelf falls (Audio)

A little girl in New Jersey who tried to touch her Elf on the Shelf accidentally knocked it off its perch and became so panicked about it that she dialed 911.

CBS reported that 7-year-old Isabella LaPeruta called the emergency line earlier this month but when the operator answered she really didn’t know how to react and started telling the dispatcher not to come to the house.

The police, however, must check out every call regardless of if they are told they need to come out or not.

“We automatically sent an officer anyway. Her mom had been taking a nap and had no idea any of this was going on,” said Old Bridge Police Lt. Joseph Mandola.

When they got to the residence Isabella was in tears because she thought she was going to get in trouble, but eventually told her mom what she had done.

As we know, the Elf on the Shelf is not supposed to be moved or touched or it loses its magic, so when Isabella accidentally knocked it to the floor she thought Santa would be upset with her.

The police officers let her know that they would call Santa and let him know what happened. Later she got a visit from Mr. Claus himself, who assured her that he was not mad and that she would still have a Merry Christmas.
