After it was reported Nick Minaj’s brother was arrested on rape charges, it’s now being reported the “Anaconda” rapper was the one who posted his bail.
As we previously reported, Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was released from a Long Island, New York jail on Friday after posting $100,000 bail for first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct charges. Maraj, 37, reportedly raped a 12-year-old girl.
According to the New York Post, the bail was backed by two homes under Minaj’s name in Baldwin, New York, which Maraj and their mom live in.
“She was prepared to do anything for her brother,” a source said. Since prosecutors had originally asked for the bail to be set at $500,000, the source also said Minaj was prepared to pay that. It’s typical the fees attached with posting bail are about 6 to 10 percent of the full amount.
Maraj recently married his longtime girlfriend Jacqueline Robinson in August, which Minaj also paid for.
