Miranda Kerr’s nude cover for Harper’s Bazaar Australia is causing a bit of trouble in her home country, with one major retail store opting to pull the magazine from its shelves.
After customers at Coles Supermarkets complained about the January/February 2016 issue, which features the model in only a pair of heels, they pulled it from their 776 stores in Australia.
A spokesperson for Coles told WWD in a statement, “In response to feedback from our customers, many of whom shop with their children, we removed the magazine from sale earlier this week."
Approximately 3,000 copies of the publication were pulled. Harper’s Bazaar editor Kellie Hush admitted she’s “disappointment” in the “conservative reaction,” but she’s still “very proud” of the cover.
Ultimately, Coles Supermarkets makes up a small portion of the 54,000 Harper’s Bazaar Australia copies distributed.
