Jennifer Lawrence visits hometown children's hospital for third straight year

Jennifer Lawrence is more than just a movie star. As a hero to countless children thanks to her Hunger Games films, the Oscar winner made sure to use her star power to spread some cheer to her hometown children’s hospital.

Lawrence stopped by the Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky to visit sick children and bring a smile to their faces on Wednesday. She surprised the hospital with a visit last year and did the same the year before.

Jennifer Lawrence stopped by Kosair Children's Hospital today! Thank you for bringing many smiles to the patients before the holidays.

The mother of one of a patient Lawrence visited said that the Joy star “gave off positive vibes” for her daughter.

The hospital shared pictures of Lawrence smiling with patients. WAVE3 also posted a photo of Lawrence posing with hospital staff.

Lawrence can be seen on the big screen in Joy, which reunites her with Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell. You can also still catch her in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2.
