Holiday gift ideas for foodies

To top off my list I have to start with this suggestion. Sea Salt.

When the idea came in I jumped up and down, literally. Mostly because I pulled a story out from Bon Appetit back in January about local sea salts across the country, yelling at my husband as to why I didn't know I could drive 30 minutes for it and why hadn't we gone yet.

While Hampton Sea Salt is was not on that list, they absolutely make mine. The company was started by a dad, Peter Pierce, who ditched traditional salts, which are laden with chemicals, for a safe, delicious alternative for his kids.

The company produces over 30 varieties of artisan sea salt, so they have something for everyone. Kosher Flake for the traditionalists to Ghost Pepper or Black Truffle infused salts for the adventurous.

Their pricing is also attractive. There are so many options for sea salt and spending a lot to hate the taste makes it daunting. These salts start at $10 for the basics to about $25 for the fancier ones.

While Hamptons Salt is right in my back yard, it can also be purchased for the first time nationwide from their website HamptonsSalt.com.

A limited selection of salts will also be featured at the Macy’s flagship on 34th Street in Herald Square as part of the SHOP store by Aesthetic Movement located in its homewares department. Also for the first time, it is available in New York’s premium artisanal marketplace Chelsea Market at the Manhattan Food Exchange.
