With their lives in the balance, Katniss and her friends place their focus on the future of Panem in The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 2. To put an end to the regime, they set out to kill President Snow. The PG-13 adventure drama is the final film in the hit film series starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland. The two-hour and 16-minute film is available in conventional and IMAX theaters.
After 10 years celebrating with one another, three best friends spend their final Christmas Eve together in The Night Before. During their last hurrah, craziness ensues as the men try to get into the notorious holiday party, the Nutcracka Ball. Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie, Lizzy Caplan and Mindy Kaling star in the one hour and 41-minute comedy. The film is rated R for drugs, language, sex and nudity.
The teenage daughter of an investigator is found murdered in Secret in Their Eyes. Years go by without finding the person responsible for the teen’s death. Thirteen years after the crime, a new lead brings hope to the investigative team and a mother’s chance for revenge. The PG-13 thriller stars Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It runs for one hour and 51 minutes.
The true story of 1960’s British gangster Reggie Kray and his eccentric twin brother Ron is told in Legend. The two hour and eleven minute thriller shows the events that took place during their reign. The film stars Tom Hardy and Chazz Palminteri. The limited released crime film is expanding to wide release on Dec. 11. It’s rated R for violence, language, sex and drugs.
A married woman falls for a young department store clerk in Carol. Out of love with her husband and yearning to get out of her marriage, she starts a relationship with the young woman. The limited released drama is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Price of Salt and stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Kyle Chandler and Sarah Paulson. The one hour and 58-minute film is rated R for sex, nudity and language.
This week a popular film series comes to an end with Hunger Games: Mocking Jay Part 2. Next week, a classic series is resurrected with the release of the Rocky sequel, Creed. Victor Frankenstein and The Good Dinosaur also head into theaters on Thanksgiving Eve.
